New Fuel Injectors

New Fuel Injectors

So what are new fuel injectors? Well, first we need to know a little about what they are as a whole to make a comparison of what was and what is new. So basically, as we all know, a fuel injector is an engine part which monitors the valve automatically. These injectors give out fuel to the combustion chamber in a regular basis. Injectors can open and close for a number of times given a second.

Back in the old days, carburetors were used to get the job done but fuel injectors have since replaced them. Here are some styles of fuel injectors that you might want to be aware of if you need to get up to speed on it.

The simplest type of fuel injection is the Throttle Body. A throttle body injector is found on top of an engine just as a carburetor. Throttle body looks like a carburetor but its performance is not the same. Throttle body fuel injectors do not have a metered jet so it gives fuel to the combustion chambers directly through bores.

Continuous Injectors give fuel to the chambers continuously. Intake valves regulate the flow of fuel that passes through the tubes. The fuel flow rate varies in this scheme.

The CPI or Central Port Injection uses poppet valves and these valves monitor the entrance end ejection of the fuel flow towards the tubes. The tubes help the central port injection give off sprays of fuel on every input.

This is an advanced injection scheme and has a dynamic process. For every tube, there is a fuel injector whether it be the multi point or the multi port fuel injectors. For the multi point fuel injectors all the injectors spray fuel at the same time without any lag. One of the most highest technological setup is the sequential multi point injection that enables the car to respond quickly. It makes the injector give off fuel just before the tube will be ignited.

The new fuel injectors are quite complicated and do not focus only on the fuel injector itself. The processes in the mechanical setup are monitored by a computer which sensors are quick to send information to, just like dioxide level monitoring.

As a whole, they are complex but all work systematically. It avoids unnecessary flow of fuel to the system and helps your vehicle reach its maximum performance.
